Commercial Energy Performance Services

Legal Requirements

An Energy Performance Certificate is required by law for any commercial properties which are to be marketed.  An Energy Performance Certificate shows the energy rating of the building, gives this a score  and shows this within bands A-G similar to the type which are seen on domestic appliances etc. This rating must be shown on all marketing material with heavy fines for both the client and ourselves as agents for failure to comply.  Furthermore EPCs are generally requested by the incoming party‚Äôs solicitors and the lack of one will cause delays and transactions to potentially falter.

Our EPC assessors can provide all the necessary certificates to ensure that you remain compliant.

Important Changes in 2018

Legislation is being introduced in 2018 which will make it illegal to let any commercial property which has an energy rating within band F or G.  Anyone with a property within these bands should consider action sooner rather than later to improve the energy efficiency and move this to band E or above.  This can often be achieved by relatively low cost improvements such as replacing light bulbs.  Our EPC assessors can advise on their recommendations to resolve any problems.

How do I obtain an EPC?
